Kimonos are one of those pieces that are so easy to throw on and create an outfit solely inspired by the kimono alone. I didn't realize until midway that these looks are perfect for Coachella and this past weekend happened to be the first weekend of the highly anticipated music festival. I've put together four looks inspired by four kimonos. I hope you are inspired to work your own kimono, whether that be on a normal day or at Coachella and if you don't have one, it's definitely worth purchasing one!
Gypsyesque
Kimono + Tank & Shorts
I purchased this kimono in-store from Gypsy Soul Revival. If you're in need of the perfect outfit for festival season, I very much suggest you check out their site! I love the look of the design on this kimono, especially the fringe element! I love the color scheme in this tribal print and I chose to bring out the off-white color in the kimono to make the other colors pop, as well as the fringe. As for bottoms, you can't go wrong with a distressed pair of high-waisted jean shorts. For accessories, I went with brown wedge shoes, complementing tribal earrings, and a Coachella staple: a navy blue flower crown.
Tribal & Gold
Kimono
I styled this tribal kimono with a burnt orange flowy crop top that matched the color scheme and paired it with a good ole' pair of culottes. This ensemble is very laid back, but still has a dash of flair and sophistication. As for accessories, I stuck with a gold theme from head to toe.
Sheer & Lace
Kimono + Romper
This kimono is different from the other kimonos in my wardrobe because it's sheer. I wanted to style it with something simple, as not to take away from the pretty watercolor pattern. I decided to go with a cream-colored lace romper. Just like the kimono, the romper is so easy to throw on and accessorize. Keeping with the dark colors in the kimono, I went with a black pair of Rock & Republic studded sandals and the same blue flower crown. I also tied in a black lace choker and a feather necklace for a fun and girly element.
Trunks & Platforms
Kimono + Tank & Jeans
This outfit is the most simplistic out of the four looks. The kimono is covered in cute little elephants, so there is no need to one up the little guys with a fancy shirt! So, I chose a basic black tank top and my very distressed pair of acid wash jeans. If any part of this outfit were to steal the show from the elephants, it would be these awesome black flatform sandals. For accessories, I went with a black leather choker and black headband.
