DIY Emoji Bag!!!

If you're anything like me, you are obsessed with emojis! Emojis convey so much and can make or break a text, but in this case it's going to MAKE your day! Your love for emojis can reach a new level with a simple, cute, and fun DIY Emoji Bag! I came across a YouTube video by RCLBeauty101, where she created a DIY Emoji Backpack. This inspired me to create my own bag!
So you are probably thinking, "Where has this emoji bag been all my life," well, LET'S GET STARTED!

What You Need:

{Canvas/Cotton Bag of your choice}
{Totes Magotes Tote Bag}
{Light Fabric Transfers}
{White Computer Paper}
{Iron}
{Pillow Case}
{Scissors}
{Board/Ironing Board}

Now it's time to pick your favorite emojis! Open Microsoft Word (PC) or Pages (Apple) to insert your chosen emojis into the document. To find those precious emojis, you can search "emojis" on Google and copy & paste them into your document or if you have a MacBook, go to Edit on the Pages toolbar and choose
Special Characters.

Once you have your emojis chosen, you will want to play with the size of the them. I chose 15 emojis to spread out on my bag, however; it depends on the size of your bag and if you want the sizes to vary.

To test this, use white computer paper, so you do not waste the transfer sheets.

Another tip for testing, would be to print out one sheet of your emojis and then trace the size on white computer paper, this way you are saving that expensive ink!

Once you are happy with the size/layout of your emojis, go ahead and print them out on the fabric transfers and cut them out.

Now that you have them all cut out, create your layout and snap a picture so you can refer back to it during the ironing process.

Before you start ironing, you will want to slip a pillow case inside your bag to prevent the emojis from sticking to the other side of the bag. If your bag has vinyl lettering of some sort, you will want to use another pillow case to cover it or it will melt from the heat of the iron.

Now it is time to start ironing on those emojis! You will want to make sure it is lined up exactly the way you like it. Then place the iron on the emoji and apply a good amount of pressure while moving the iron around on the transfer. Be patient with the time it takes to iron down each emoji, as some tend to take a little longer than others. Make sure they are completely ironed on before you peel the backing off or they will peel or tear. A few of mine did this, but I like the vintage look it gave to the bag and it added some character. Like my mom always says, "There's no such thing as a mistake!"

And there you have it! You've got yourself an Emoji Bag! It's quite the conversation starter!
