6 Ways to Style Your Sneaks

After styling my sister, Emily, in my last post, Hollywood Icons Photoshoot, I was inspired to style her once again, only this time based around a new pair of sneakers she recently purchased from Forever 21. My sister's everyday personal style is the polar opposite of mine; however, she does like to channel her older sister from time to time. She was anxious for me to put together a blog post centered around her style and she chose her new faux leather white high-tops as the main focus. With the inspiration chosen, I began putting different outfits together styled around the shoes. In the end, I came up with six different ways to style the sneaks. Each outfit has a distinct look and no two are the same. Sneakers aren't just your go-to shoe for sporty outfits, it's all in the way you style them that they can become a versatile shoe staple. I really enjoyed both styling and being on the other side of the camera for this blog post! I hope you enjoy this post and are inspired to think outside the box with your fav pair of sneaks!

Tanks & Sneaks

A graphic tank, acid washed jeans, and a plaid shirt tied around the waist is the perfect combination for a pair of white high-tops! You can't go wrong with any kind of skinny jean when sporting a pair of sneaks. The simplicity of this look complements the clean and fresh vibe of the shoes, (as long as you don't step in any puddles or dirt!). If you're aiming for a grunge look, an outfit like this is the way to go!

This is one of my favorite looks! Something as simple as a striped shirt and ripped jean shorts can really take a basic pair of sneakers to a whole new level. What really sets it apart is the red bandana hair accessory. This look captures both a girly and sporty style. Each component of this outfit is simple and basic, but when combined, it's a really cute look to sport!

This look is the most unexpected of them all, just because you wouldn't instantly think to wear both a skirt and sneakers together. But it works! A cute graphic crop top and a patterned pencil skirt is one of the many ways to dress up a pair of white sneaks. Unexpected pairings is one the best elements of fashion and this outfit is no exception.

I love how lax this look is. It's carefree, just like my sister. A tunic is the epitome of casual comfort. I styled this specific tunic with a pair of long jean shorts. This length of shorts is perfect for a look like this. What literally topped off the look is the fedora. This look gives off tourist vibes and I think it's adorable! The sneakers surprisingly work well with this outfit because of the overall comfort and easiness of the outfit.

This look is all about comfort. An outfit like this would be the perfect airport outfit! A comfy burnout shirt, go-to black tights, and a duster cardigan is the perfect combo for comfort! What other shoes than a good ole' pair of sneakers could complete a laid back and casual look like this?
